"Paideia (pie-DAY-uh) n.
In ancient Greek tradition, the holistic concept of a child's total education; the path to becoming a healthy citizen.
Built by a teacher who spent decades in the classroom, Paideia Early Learning is a practical, research-backed framework for play-based early childhood education. It gives educators a clear developmental roadmap to work from, and helps parents actually understand what their child is learning and why.
About Jerri
For more than 40 years, Jerri Thompson has worked alongside educators, schools, and early learning programs to strengthen teaching practices and improve outcomes for young children. Her tools and workshops are research-based and classroom-tested, built around a framework for developmentally appropriate, play-based learning.
Paideia Early Learning grew out of a challenge Jerri saw repeatedly across the field: teachers doing meaningful work, but struggling to help parents understand how play-based learning was actually preparing their children for long-term success. She built a solution that didn't box teachers into rigid lesson plans, but gave them a clear, flexible roadmap rooted in developmental milestones from early infancy through kindergarten.
Today, Paideia Early Learning is used by educators and programs across the country to build confident, intentional teaching practice, and to bridge the communication gap between schools and the families they serve.
